Harrison’s passion for music emerged at an early age. As a music scholar at Ipswich School, he quickly distinguished himself through his exceptional abilities as an organist. His musical education was further enriched through studies at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music, where he refined the skills and artistry that would define his career.
Following a gap-year organ scholarship at Wells Cathedral, Harrison continued his academic and musical journey at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he served as Organ Scholar beginning in 2019. During his time there, he became known for his outstanding musicianship, professionalism, and dedication to the rich traditions of sacred music.
After graduating, he was appointed Assistant Organist at Gonville and Caius College before accepting the prestigious position of Assisting Organist at King’s College, Cambridge, in September 2024. In this role, he played an integral part in supporting the world-renowned Chapel Choir through services, rehearsals, recordings, broadcasts, and international tours.
Harrison contributed to major performances, including the celebrated Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, a cherished tradition followed by millions around the world. He also traveled internationally with the choir, performing in countries including Australia, Estonia, Canada, and the United States.
Colleagues remember him as a gifted musician, supportive collaborator, and dedicated professional whose talent was matched by humility and kindness. At the time of his passing, he was preparing for new assistant organist appointments in London, opportunities that reflected the bright future ahead of him.
